Flying bike could take off

1 of 1

What do you do when you’re stuck in the queue to leave Brands world superbikes? Easy! Flick a switch and turn your bike into a helicopter…

That’s the radical “personal transport” solution from Dutch firm Spark Design

The firm claims that on the ground the three-wheeler would be as comfortable as a luxury car combined with the agility of a motorbike. It’ll do 0-60 in under five seconds, lean around corners and top 125mph.

The single rotor and propeller fold away until you’re ready for take off. Then you’ll fly at up to 4000 feet.

Dutch entrepreneur John Bakker, who is working on the project reckons it could cost little more than an executive saloon car.
