Electric scoots on charge

American electric scooter maker Evader Inc is tieing up with a Brazillian manufacturer with a plan to build 20,000-plus electric and petrol scooters a year for the next five years.

Rio-based Garini will partner Evader in building a new factory in Manaus – in Amazonian Brazil. The scooters will initially be marketing in South America before being offered in the US in the latter part of this year..

Prices for the scooters range from £550 to £1375 with the top-of-the-range version capable of 50mph with a range of 90 miles.
