Moto Guzzi has announced that its new Breva V1100 will be available from dealers by the end of the month.

The new bike, which is much more than just a bigger capacity version of the Breva 750, will be priced at £6,999, £500 cheaper than it’s nearest rival, the BMW R1150R.

MCN tested the bike last month and said it is the best bike that Guzzi has produced so far with impressive torque and gentle cruising characteristics mixed up with the ability to pick things up a level if you want to have a bit of fun.

The main features that stand out on the new bike are the completely revamped 1100cc engine that is far smoother than any other Guzzi, the six speed gear-box that is supersmooth and the new shaft drive system.

The combined shaft and single sided swingarm acts to neutralise the torque roll you get with shaft drive bikes, putting an end to the bike lurching sideways when you blip the throttle.
