BMW at dirt bike show

BMW made its first ever appearance at the Dirt Bike Show on Thursday, MCN caught up with BMW Marketing Manager Tony Jakeman to find out why.

He said: “We’ve come to launch our new G-series range of bikes, due next March. BMW has moved into a specialist area with bikes such as the HP Enduro and the GS range and the people here are those who will be mostly interested in them.

“There’s been a good reaction so far. From the public’s reaction today I think that they didn’t know what to expect, but the industry people are happy to see a new manufacturer here.

“BMW has had a good off-road history winning the Dakar rally, and this is another stage in the move to change the company’s image – a process that began over three years ago.”

BMW will also show it’s range of new bikes at the MCN ExCeL show from February 1 to the 4.
