Ducati delivers gift packs for Desmo owners

Prospective Ducati Desmosedici RR owners have received gift packs preparing them for the arrival of the bikes later this year.

The gift packs – sealed inside black envelopes and needing to be signed for – arrived with owners at the start of this week and included a signed photograph of MotoGP racer Loris Capirossi, a signed photo of World Superbike racer Troy Bayliss and a signed sketch by designer Alan Jenkins.

The gift packs also contained a letter from Ducati boss Federico Minoli explaining the first DesmosediciRR bikes will be ready to be delivered from August this year – slightly later than the planned handing over at the World Ducati Week event in June.

The cost of the Desmosedici RR has now risen to £40,000 from £37,500 – a result of inflation since the bike was unveiled for the first time in 2004. This price increase only relates to orders placed since February 1 2007.
