World first test: 2008 Suzuki Hayabusa

1 of 1

MCN Road Tester Adam Child is currently getting a world first ride aboard Suzuki’s eagerly anticipated new Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa at the humungously fast Saltzburgring in  Austria. Here’s what he’s had to say after his first go on the bike – and checkout the video too!

Watch our exclusive video from the first test of the 2008 Suzuki GSX1300R Haybusa, here.

“As soon as you see the Suzuki in the flesh there’s no mistaking it – it looks like a Busa and, even on board, it feels like a Busa too, so existing owners and devotees won’t be disappointed.

“The Salzburgring is monumentally fast – a bit like Spa or the Nurburgring – and really lets the new Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa show what it’s got – it’s showing over 280kph (175mph) over the start/finish and nearly 300kph (187.5mph) on the back straight. So it’s a massive relief that the bike’s new brakes are a big improvement over the old bike’s as well.”

“We’ve been riding the new Suzuki Busa around the track on road suspension settings so far, so it’s a bit wallowy, but we’re about to dial in track settings. I’ll let you know later what a difference it makes.”

You’ll be able to read more from the test of the Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa in MCN on Wednesday, September 12, 2007, and we’ll have more updates and video throughout the day.
