2010 Triumph Sprint is last of the 'real' sports-tourers

1 of 2

Triumph’s Sprint ST will be the last sports-tourer standing in 2010, and to celebrate it’ll wear this refreshingly un-muted Tornado Red paintscheme.

It’ll be the last of the sport-tourer genre as defined by Honda’s original VFR750/800 – the kind of bike that to civilians looks like sportsbike, but with the practicalities and comfort enough to ride all day. The VFR itself is abandoning the segment in favour or a higher plane of plushness and sophistication.

It’s the second year the bike remains unchanged and will disappoint fans hoping for a bigger engine, radial brakes or a re-style. But it’s still undeniably a handsome bike and well able to stand on its own two wheels in the showroom while we await the arrival of a fully redesigned Sprint in 2011.

No changes other than graphics, and likely paint, are expected for the Tiger too.
