Bimota Moto2 bike may form basis of new HB4 road bike

Bimota’s exquisite new Moto2 contender will form the basis of a new supersport-capacity roadbike if the season goes well and Honda agrees to sell the Rimini firm engines.

The HB4, which has already been tested at tiny Italian track Binetto in the hands of rider Roberto Tamburini, is the first Honda-powered Bimota in 25 and features a new design of hybrid steel trellis / magnesium casting frame.

The race bike has an adjustable steering head and engine mounts.

A spokesman for the currently exclusively Ducati-powered firm told MCN: “The story of our company shows we have always produced bikes with different companies’ engines, and that is what we are going to do in future”.
