Milan bike show: Honda New Mid Concept scooter

1 of 3

Honda has unveiled the New Mid Concept scooter at the Milan motorcycle show.

Aimed at taking on Yamaha’s TMax-led dominance of the performance scooter market, few technical details are so far available.

What is confirmed is that it will come with Honda’s Dual Clutch Transmission – so far only available on the VFR1200F – which will mean both manual and automatic gear modes.

The wheels will be 17” and rear suspension will be supplied by PRO-LINK.

It is also claimed the bike will deliver better fuel efficiency than standard manual gearboxes, and that the “feet-forward” riding position will offer enhanced comfort and weather protection.

Whether these factors will ”offer the energetic riding sensation of a motorcycle but with the ease and convenience of a scooter” will be put to the test as soon as MCN can get its hands on a finished model.
