MV Agusta F4 RR begins production

Italian firm MV Agusta has started building the first run of the new and recently revealed, 201bhp F4 RR Corsacorta superbike at the Varese factory.

The new F4 is the range-topping version of the F4 superbike given a complete makeover last year with the new £17,999 version packing the highest claimed power figure for a production superbike.

This first limited run of bikes are due to be used as press test bikes and demonstrator machines for a number of key markets – the UK included and should be shipped over within weeks.

The extra power the F4 RR gets comes from a bigger bore, shorter stroke (‘corsacorta’) with larger, lighter larger titanium valves. Internal gear ratio tweaks ensure all of the 15bhp gain improves acceleration.

New ‘Aerospace RR alloy’ forged pistons, revised exhaust, Ohlins TTX36 shock, new forged wheels, Brembo radial master cylinders and bespoke paintschemes – ‘pastel’ red/white and matt pearl white – are among the other upgrades.

The F4 RR is due to go on sale in the UK from June, priced at £17,999. The standard F4 remains in the range at £14,499
