Exclusive: Three new Triumphs spied!

1 of 3

These exclusive spy shots show not one, but three new Triumphs currently being developed on the road – including an all-new Bonneville-based café racer, a road-ready 2013 Tiger update – dubbed the Tiger Sport 1050 – and a new addition to the Thunderbird cruiser range.

The spied café racer is a Bonneville-based test mule, clearly sporting the latest spec suspension and brakes, and is rumoured to be the basis of a major revision for the Bonneville, due in 2014, which marries retro charm with modern cycle parts.

The Tiger Sport 1050 boasts a new swingarm, wheels and suspension, and appears to be in the final stages of road testing, ready for a 2013 release. The ‘Sport’ is squarely aimed at the road-only adventure bike market, creating a clear model range for Triumph, with the all-road 1200 Explorer leading the range, followed by the road-bias 1050 Sport, with the Tiger 800 satisfying those looking for a lighter, or just smaller capacity, offering.

Triumph’s cruisers aren’t being ignored, either. The updated Thunderbird Storm features new wheels (with a wider front rim), new forks and a strong styling update taking the Storm closer to the look of Harley-Davidson’s Fat Boy.
