NEX best thing: Kymco showcase updated RevoNEX and SuperNEX at Eicma 2022

Taiwanese firm Kymco have unveiled their latest RevoNEX and SuperNEX electric concepts at the Eicma trade show in Milan and they’re pretty eye-catching.

The SuperNEX electric superbike was first unveiled back in 2018 and was followed a year later by the naked RevoNEX in 2019 with the promise of a 2021 model release.

Now, Kymco chairman Allen Ko has presented heavily updated versions of both models, but there’s not much information to go on nor a revised release date for either.

The most striking part of the design is the honeycomb bodywork, which not only looks good but also apparently acts as an air intake for motor and battery cooling.

Both bikes have also gained aerodynamic wings – the must-have bodywork accessory for any aspiring sportsbike builder – which cleverly incorporate the front indicators.

They also get radial Brembo brake calipers with chunky-looking twin front discs and upside down forks. There’s also a neat-looking TFT dash on both variants.

And to add to the sporty riding experience, both models also get a conventional gear shifter although it’s unclear how many gears they will have and whether the lever is connected to a gearbox or a gear emulator.

There’s no claimed power, performance, charge time, range, price or any kind of information on price and availability, but both of the bikes in the imagery are fitted with road going accoutrements like numberplate hangers and lights, so maybe we’ll find out more soon.
