New SWMs ready to roll: small-capacity nakeds mark firm's 50th anniversary

SWM have released a pair of small-capacity bikes as a tribute to their home region on the firm’s 50th anniversary. The duo are called the VA125Z and VA400Z respectively, after Italy’s Varese area.

Capacity is either 125 or 399cc and both share the same aggressive roadster looks complete with exposed trellis frame. Apart from the engine the bikes are similarly spec’d too, with 41mm USD forks and monoshock rear suspension, Brembo brakes complete with ABS and a low seat height of 800mm.

The 125 weighs 136kg, while the 400 tips the scales at 144kg. SWM have also announced that there is a new 46bhp 500cc parallel twin on the way.

No UK prices have yet been announced for the 125 or 400cc machines, but expect a competitive tag of about £3500 for the VA125Z and around £5000 for the VA400Z.
