JOHN CROCKFORD will continue to lead Suzuki’s superstock challenge after signing up with the Roundstone squad for 2002. The Southampton-based rider, third in last year’s series, had hoped to return to the superbike class but has been tempted to stay in the class by the team.

He said: ” Roundstone has offered me a two-year deal that should see me developing the superbike during the season and racing it in 2003. ” Partnering Crockford will be former Superteen champion and 125GP rider Chris Burns who finished seventh in superstock last season. Both riders could compete in BSB next year by taking advantage of a new rule that allows up to four wildcard entries at each round.
