Kawasaki World Superbike star Chris Walker finished a creditable 13th in Sunday’s gruelling Weston Beach Race, at Weston-Super-Mare.

“The Stalker”, riding a Kawasaki 250, completed 20 laps to finish just one lap behind former leading British motocross rider Kurt Nicoll riding a 500 KTM. The big names drew a record 50,000 crowd over the weekend. The field was the biggest ever, too, with 300 for Saturday’s quad/sidecar race and 800 for Sunday’s solo race.

Walker immediately left Weston to catch a plane to take part in the coming weekend’s penultimate round of the Japanese superbike series.

Nicoll ended up in 10th place. The three-hour race was won by Ben Taylor, 23, from Purley. It was his seventh attempt at the race. He finished ahead of Jason Fraser. Five times-Weston winner Rob Meek finished third while Stevie Roper was the only other rider to complete the same number of laps as the top three.
