Jamie Dobb will be joined by Gordon Crockard in their only competitive appearance in Britain for 2002 next month -after signing to ride the opening round of the British International Championship at Castle Donington.

The 125cc World Champion and his KTM team mate Crockard will make the one-off appearance at the Leicestershire track, on Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday, May 5-6.

“It’s always good to race in England,” said Dobb, “With it being so close to my home in Derby it’s obviously good for me and for my UK fans.

“It allows me to do a race in England because it fits in with my schedule. Besides, I love nothing more than riding in front of my fans, I am really looking forward to it,” he said.

Dobb is competing in the world 250 class this year but he admitted there’s a special buzz riding in the UK.

“It’s always an emotional moment for me racing in England. It’s nice to give something back to the fans ” , he said.

They will line up alongside other top riders including British 125cc rider Stephen Sword.
