Hislop steams to Cadwell pole

Steve Hislop steamed through Superpole at Cadwell Park today to pip Michael Rutter for the top spot by just 0.120 of a second ahead of the Bank Holiday race.

The MonsterMob Ducati rider set a time of 1:25.366, but afterwards he said he wasn’t even trying his hardest.

He told MCN: ” What a lovely day! It was a faultless lap I could have gone faster, but I decided to keep something in reserve for the race.

” I did a 1:24.716 in the warm up, but it’s really hard in Superpole because you can’t click into your rhythm ” .

Hislop’s effort also meant that Rutter won’t collect the prize for three consecutive Superpoles.

The Renegade Ducati rider said: ” I can’t believe it. Hizzy’s just robbed me of two grand. Still I did it to him earlier in the year so I can’t complain too much I suppose ” .
