Carmichael keeps 100% record in Ohio

1 of 1

The complete domination of AMA Motocross by Ricky Carmichael continued in Troy, Ohio, with the Honda rider taking his total to 14 wins from 14 starts. He made it easy by getting good starts for both races, and won the second race of the day by a huge 38 seconds.

Carmichael’s teammate, Sebastien Tortelli took second overall, with two runner-up places, and Ezra Lusk finished third overall. Carmichael now leads the championship by 87 points from Honda four-stroke rider Tim Ferry.

In the 125cc races, James Stewart extended his lead in the championship over rival Chad Reed. Stewart took the overall win, from the Blimpie Suzuki riders Branden Jesseman and Danny Smith. Reed, however, finished outside the top twenty in the first race of the day, ruining his chance of a good position overall. Stewart now has a total of 287 points to Reed’s 232, with Jesseman in third on 212.
