Carmichael makes it 12 in a row

Ricky Carmichael continued his perfect season in AMA Motocross to take his 11th and 12th motos, and the overall win, breaking Bob Hannah’s 1978 record of 10 moto wins.

Carmichael’s Honda teammate, Nathan Ramsey, finished second overall with a fifth and a second place, with Kawasaki’s Ezra Lusk taking third overall after a third in race one and a fourth in race two.

Mike LaRocco took fifth overall, with Carmichael’s closest rival, Tim Ferry, taking sixth.

Carmichael now leads the championship on 300 points, 67 ahead of Ferry with Luck third.

James ‘Bubba’ Stewart is edging nearer to his first ever national championship as an overall win takes him 27 points clear of rival Chad Reed.

Reed triumphed with a second in the first race, and victory in the second. Reed had won the first race, but gifted Stewart the overall win after crashing in the second race and finishing 22nd. Second overall went to Branden Jesseman, with Larry Ward third, and Chad Reed eventually ending the meeting in sixth overall.
