The best get ready for Brands

1 of 1

It’s the huge Brands Hatch round of the MCN-backed British Superbikes this weekend. Ahead of the races we caught up with the top men and got their inner thoughts and how they rate their chances.

You can catch this preview in full, with Hislop, Reynolds, Glen Richards and Matt Llewellyn in the latest issue of MCN, out June 12.

Monster Mob Ducati rider Steve Hislop is famous for his super-smooth style and he reckons it’s well suited to the famous Brands full-circuit. He told MCN: ” It’s one of my favourites – it requires plenty from the rider and the bike and set-up is crucial so you can put the bike anywhere you need to.

” And although the threat from the 1000s hasn’t appeared, I’ll have to be on my game from the very first practice session to hold of guys like Sean Emmett and Shane Byrne ” .

But defending champion John Reynolds on the Crescent Suzuki GSX-R1000 reckons it isn’t over just yet: ” I love the place – I go well on the Indy circuit and the GP circuit. We haven’t started well, but now we’re regrouping and I’m strong throughout the lap. ”

But Sean Emmett, lying second in the series behind Hislop has other ideas. In a live web chat with motorcyclenews.com the IFC Ducati rider told us: ” I’m feeling confident after the double at Snetterton – if I can do it there I can do it anywhere. Brands is my favourite track and I’m up for it. ”

You can read how the riders got on in Friday’s first qualifying later right here from around 4pm.
