The second outing of the season saw a full grid of MZs.

Saturday, Race 1:

An excellent start off of the line by Jon Hart saw him leading the race for several laps. However never far behind and closing was Tim Kaley. Tim leads the championship at the moment and has not been beaten in any of his races; he was also last season’s runner up in what was a very closely contested championship. Paul Emmanuel rounded off the top 3 places.

Tim Kaley took the lead and lead for the remainder of the race but the next few riders changed positions on numerous occasions. It was Richard Lee’s (the circuit record holder) first race of the season and he started at the back of the grid but eventually moved his way up to finish in 3rd place.

Saturday, Race 2:

A poor start by Tim Kaley saw him back in 7th place into the first corner. Richard Lee however had an excellent start that put him into the lead, a positon that he held for the entire race, extending his lead each lap. He also recorded the fastest lap of the meeting. Tim Kaley gradually made his way back to finish 2nd.

After having mechanical problems that meant he failed to start race 1,Marek Wieckowski, a former championship winner, came from the back of the grid to have battles with John Welfare and Bernard Morley for their positions and eventually finished 6th.

Sunday, Race1:

The second day of racing started with damp conditions after overnight rain.

Again some very close racing was seen. The leading three, Richard Lee, Tim Kaley and Chris Rogers, were swapping positions on numerous occasions over the whole circuit. Paul Emmanuel, Marek Wieckowski, and John Welfare were all battling for that 4th position. Unfortunately a back marker forced Marek and Richard Lee wide out of Paddock and Richard ended up in the gravel, but he managed to hold on to the bike and returned to the track to finish in 5th place with Marek in 4th. Matt Goldsmith just beat John Welfare over the line, closely followed by Bernard Morley.
