French supermoto victory

The French team have won the inaugural Maxxis Supermotard Des European Nations, held at Alpe D’Huez in France last weekend (August 2-3).

The home nation’s victory came without a race win, but they had consistent results in all three classes, SM450, SM650 and Open. Three races took place SM450/SM650, SM450/Open and SM650/Open. Second place went to the Italian team, who actually registered the most race wins. Germany claimed third place.

The French team members were Alexandre Thiebault, Stephane Blot, and Boris Chambon, brother of world supersport racer Stephane Chambon.

The British team of Kurt Nicoll, Warren Steele and Christian Iddon came eighth out of fifteen.
