Ekerold and sons join British Supersport

British Supersport will be joined by a former 350 GP champ and his sons next year.

Former 350 GP champion Jon Ekerold will be involved as a consultant a team managed by his son Gary. Meanwhile his younger son, Jonnie Ekerold, will be the squad’s rider, on a Honda CBR600RR.

Gary feels confident his brother can be successful, despite knowing virtually none of the tracks. ” He can win races in Britain, no question, but the fact that he doesn’t know the tracks might rule him out as a title contender.

” Our objective in 2003 is to finish top five in the championship but as long as we’re in the top 10 we’ll be happy. ”
