Carmichael takes sixth AMA win of the season

Honda’s Ricky Carmichael continued his winning streak with his sixth AMA 250cc Supercross victory of the year at Saturday’s round in Indianapolis.

He led the race from the first lap and claimed an emphatic third consecutive victory. Yamaha’s David Vuillemin and Chad Reed took second and third places. Ernesto Fonseca took fourth for Honda, with Sean Hamblin in fifth. Ezra Lusk dropped out of the top ten after a crash, which leaves him in fifth place in the championship. Mike LaRocco missed his home round due to a recurring shoulder injury. Travis Preston, who led the race during the first lap, eventually finished in tenth place.

In the 125cc event, Brandon Jesseman took the win and the 125cc Supercross East championship lead. He was able to pass championship rival Brock Sellards, who later fell and eventually finished in seventh. Kawasaki’s Mike Brown claimed second, with Derrick Shae Bentley third for Suzuki.
