2004 Motocross and Supermoto dates

The provisional dates for the MX1 motocross and S1 Supermoto world championships have been announced by organisers Youthstream. The Motocross series will have 4 more rounds than the 2003 series.

” I am proud to bring MX1 back with 16 events and to bring the championship back to the very traditional motocross countries like England and Ireland, ” said Youthstream president Giuseppe Luongo. ” Supermoto is continuing to grow with the arrival of the S2 (450cc) class and the arrival of new manufacturers and teams. ”

The dates below are subject to approval by the FIM at the biennial session on October 22-25.

2004 MX1 World Championship dates:

March 21: Flanders GP, Zolder. March 28: Spanish GP, Bellpuig. April 4: Portuguese GP, Agueda. April 25: Dutch GP, Lichtenvoorde. May 2: German GP, Teutschenthal. May 16: Wallonie GP, Spa-Franchorchamps. May 30: English GP, Arreton, Isle of Wight. June 6: French GP, St Jean d’Angely. June 13: Italian GP, Gallarate. June 27: Austrian GP, Karntenring. July 4: Swedish GP, Uddevalla. August 1: Czech Republic GP, Loket. August 8: Belgium GP, Lommel. August 29: European GP, Gaildorf. September 11: Irish GP, Ballykelly. September 24: South Africa GP, Sun City.

2004 S1 Supermoto World Championship dates:

May 9: Austria GP, Melk. May 23 Italian GP (venue tba). June 20: French GP, Toulouse/Murret. July 11: Irish GP (venue tba). July 18: Great Britain GP, Lydd. July 25: Czech GP, Sosnova. September 5: Belgium GP, Spa. September 19: German GP, Sachsenring. October 10: Flanders GP (venue tba). October 17: Spain GP, Finestrat. November 7: Romanian GP, Bucarest (tbc). November 14: Greece GP, Creta. December 3: Lybian GP, Tripoli. December 10: Emirates GP, Dubai.
