Stefan Everts won both races at the German Motocross GP to return to winning form with his 85th GP win.

Everts led the first race from start to finish in front of 12,000 people at Gaildorf, near Stuttgart. Steve Ramon took second, with fellow KTM rider Ben Townley in third.

The second race was almost a a copy of the first, despite a mistake by Everts in the closing stages. As the Belgian was restarting his Yamaha, Mikael Pichon caught up, only to fall at the same corner. Everts eventually finished ahead of Tanel Leok and John Coppins.

The next round of the championship take place on the Isle of Wight, on August 27/28.

In MX2, Antonio Cairoli pushed Yamaha to the manufacturer title by taking both races. The first race saw Cairoli win in front of Andrew McFarlane and British KTM rider Carl Nunn, who claimed his best result of the season. In the second race Cairoli headed a Yamaha podium with Alessio Chiodi and Mickael Maschio. Nunn again finished strongly with a fourth place.
