Everts' pre-season win

Stefan Everts has begun the 2005 season with a victory in the opening pre-season international motorcross event, the Mantova Supercross in Italy.

The Belgian was crowned the inaugral MX1 world champion in 2004, and showed consistency to win the second and third Motos to take the overall win. Mikael Pichon took one victory and one second, while Joel Smets gained third overall on his return to racing. It was at the same circuit last year when Smets broke his anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
