BSB: Practice times

Ryuichi Kiyonari has gone fastest in practice for the opening round of the 2005 Bennetts British Superbike championship on Easter Monday.

The Japanese HM Plant rider is the first of four Hondas in the top five times, with only Leon Haslam riding a different machine. Kiyonari completed 46 laps in practice with a best time around the Brands Indy circuit of 45.974. Leon Haslam was second quickest with 46.288 on the Ariwaves Ducati, followed by the Honda Racing CBR1000RR of Karl Harris, the HM Plant Honda of Michael Rutter and the Stobart Honda of Jeremy McWilliams.

Sean Emmett is sixth fastest on the Virgin Yamaha, followed by Glen Richards, Scott Smart, and Gregorio Lavilla, riding as a stand-in for James Haydon. Joh McGuinness rounds out the top ten with Danny Beaumont heading the Privateers Championship in 11th. Reigning champion John Reynolds is 21st fastest, riding just 41 days after breaking his leg in five places during testing.
