Scottish rider Stephen Sword took third overall at the Motocross Grand prix of Belgium in the MX2 class as Stefan Everts increased his lead in the MX1 championship.

Sword debuted the new aluminium framed Kawasaki KX250F with a fifth in the first race and a win in the second Moto giving him third place overall. He’s now also third in the MX2 championship, trailing Italians Cairoli and Chiodi.

Brian Jorgensen took the first MX1 moto from Stefan Everts and Martin Van Daele, but the reigning champion recovered with a win in the second race to take the overall victory. The podium for the second Moto was completed by Ben Townley and Joel Smets, but the voerall order was Everts, Jorgensen and Townley.

Everts now leads the championship on 172 points from Mickael Pichon (145), Josh Coppins (131) and Joel Smets (132).
