The firm’s current BSB team will be getting their hands dirty in the garage to help the guy’s clock their 250 laps.

British Superbike championship leader Ryuichi Kiyonari will be making the tea for the team while his team-mate Michael Rutter has been handed the role of tyre fitter. HM Plant Honda team manger and former GP racer Tadyuki Okada has been roped in to fill the important role of supplying the team’s culinary needs.

Commenting on his new job, Rutter said: "Scott’s asked me to do the lap timing for him, so I’m taking my deckchair and calendar. I don’t think he’s going to be taking my day job."
