Brit MX win for Coppins

Josh Coppins took both Moto wins at the British MX round at Wakes Colne near Colchester on August 13, 2006, as team-mate Ken De Dycker closed on the British Motocross title.

In both races New Zealander Coppins led from the early stages. De Dycker took two second places as title challenger James Noble fell in the first race, taking fifth, with Gordon Crockard standing on the final step of the podium. The second race again saw Noble finish fifth, as Crockard reached the podium for a second time, with Mark Jones taking fourth.

In the MX2 class title rivals Carl Nunn, Tommy Searle and Billy Mackenzie took the top three spots, with the order changing slightly in the second moto, as Mackenzie surged into the lead, followed to the flag by Nunn and Searle recovering from virtually last place after a first corner pile-up.
