Rookie Ratthapark Wilairot will make history by being the first Thai rider to race full-time in the GP world championship next season.

Wilairot has signed a deal to race in the world 250 championship with the Spanish outfit Stop And Go Racing Team.

A deal was signed between Stop and Go Racing and  A.P. Honda in Bangkok today and Wilairot will ride a RS250R kit Honda in 2007. It will be his first full season in Grand Prix after he finished 10th as a wild card in September’s Japanese GP.

“It’s a dream come true! I’m thrilled because this is what I wanted since I was a child. I’m going to race in the 250cc world Championship and I have to thank Stop And Go for the faith they place in me and to A.P. Honda for their support. This is a great opportunity and I want to make the most of it to pay back everyone from being so supportive, “said Wilairot.

In January, Wilairot will move to Spain to live near the team’s headquarters and begin his training for the 2007 season.
