World series for Combe

The Castle Combe circuit will host the British round of the FIM Superside World Sidecar championship on June 10-11, 2006, alongside the popular Castle Combe Superbike Grand National.

The sidecars will be racing at the second round of the eight round world championship, and the decision was confirmed following a circuit inspection by Max Deubel, Mick Boddice and Steve Webster.

“This will be the first world championship event in Castle Combe’s 56 year history,” said managing director of the track, Graham Marshallsay. “We have demonstrated with our two Superbike meetings that we can attract large crowds and believe that this world class event coming to Wiltshire will generate huge publicity and be a wonderful spectacle.”

Support races include the new ACU Star championship, the KTM Bracken Cup and the Ducati Desmo Championship.
