Stefan Everts continues to dominate the 2006 MX1 World Championship, taking his ninth consecutive win at Uddevalla in Sweden, a circuit the Belgian rider hasn’t taken a win at since 2003.

The 33-year-old qualified on pole, and seized the lead in the first race from the start, taking his fourteenth moto win in a row from Jonathan Barragan and Josh Coppins. In the second race Everts crashed on the first lap but recovered to pass leader Steve Ramon on the penultimate lap. Kevin Strijbos, who has now signed with Suzuki until 2008, took third place. Briain’s Gordon Crockard took seventh in the opening moto and a fine fourth in the second race, with Josh Noble 10th and eighth, and Julien Bill 13th and 10th. Cedric Melotte sat out the race due to an injury in warm-up.
