It was an action-packed weekend for Fantasy Road Race, with MotoGP, World Superbikes and Bennetts British Superbikes action all taking place.

Nicky Hayden won the MotoGP race in America after passing pole-sitter Chris Vermeulen on lap 17 and never looked back. However, it was the retirement of Valentino Rossi that was the major talking point of the race. The Italian seemed to be closing on a podium place before a shredded back tyre, followed by a smoking bike, caused a premature end to his race.

Vermeulen also looked on course for a podium position but mechanical problems caused him to slow down and eventually crossed the line in fifth, with Dani Pedrosa and Marco Melandri finishing in second and third places respectively.

In the Czech Republic, Yukio Kagayama secured his first-ever race double, and with it, 50 Fantasy Road Race points. In the first race, Kagayama went past James Toseland on the 14th lap to take the lead as much of the field struggled with grip. This allowed the Japanese rider to ease to victory, with Toseland in second and Michel Fabrizio earning his first-ever podium position in third.

In the second race, Kagayama was sensationally waved through to the front by countryman Noriyuki Haga, who started to slow three laps from home. However, it was Fabrizio again who provided the drama on the final lap by overtaking both Troy Corser and Haga to finish second by the smallest of margins.

Oulton Park’s BSB action also witnessed a race double for Ryuichi Kiyonari. Starting from third on the grid, Kiyonari secured a comfortable victory in the first race before getting the better of a battle with team-mate and pole position man, Karl Harris, in the second.

In terms of Fantasy Road Race, Mick Pennell extended his lead at the top of the overall standings to 91 points, and is also on course for further honours after reaching the summit of the Game Month 5 leaderboard. The final races of the month take place in two weeks as World Superbikes come to Great Britain.
