Brit MX round five

The fifth round of the Maxxis British Motocross championship at Desertmartin in Northern Ireland took place on June 24, 2006, with Josh Coppins and Ken De Dycker dominating MX1.

CAS Honda star Coppins won both MX1 races on his return from injury, leading team-mate and 2006 championship leader De Dycker to the flag on both occasions. Julien Bill took third in the first race, and James Noble finished off the podium in race two.

In MX2, Carl Nunn took the first race win from Billy Mackenzie and Tommy Searle. The second race saw a restart due to a crash, which was followed by leader Mackenzie crashing out of the race. Carl Nunn inherited the lead to win from Tommy Searle, with George Strik third.

In MX1, De Dycker still heads the championship while in MX2 Carl Nunn is now the title leader.
