TT: Hutchy disqualified

Ian Hutchinson has been stripped of his second place in yesterday’s Junior Supersport TT after minor technical error saw him fall foul in post race scruitineering.

Hutchinson took his McAdoo Kawasaki to second place, just eight seconds behind the winner john McGuinness but an examination of his bike after the race found the exhaust valve on the bike was lifting a fraction of a millimetre higher than allowed in Supersport rules.

Despite the fact that Hutchinson would have had no power advantage from the error officials decided to go ahead with the disqualification promoting TAS Suzuki rider Bruce Ansty to second and Buildbase Piranha Yamaha rider Jason Griffiths to third.

Officials did state they believed there was no intention to cheat on behalf of the team and the part was supplied to them by a third party.
