Bayliss' Fantasy charge

1 of 1

The penultimate week of Fantasy Road Race’s second month featured World Superbike action from Monza, Italy.

Troy Bayliss took his second consecutive race double, dominating both races from the early stages. Starting from second on the grid, behind Troy Corser who set Monza’s fastest ever qualifying lap.

Bayliss got to the front early on in the first race and was never really challenged as Alex Barros, Corser and Noriyuki Haga continually battled for second place. Bayliss got the 25 Road Race points with Barros taking 20, Corser 16 and Haga 13.

James Toseland attempted a late charge, but ran wide and damaged his brakes in the latter stages. This ended his race when he ran off the track at the end of the start-finish straight. Needless to say the Englishman was none too happy as he trudged off the track.

In the second race Bayliss again got to the front early, and although he allowed Corser to pass him at one point, he was back ahead less than half a lap later. Corser did manage to stick close to his fellow Australian, but never really got close enough to put Bayliss off his stride. Bayliss’ first place gave him a near perfect weekend total of 54 Road Race points.

With just one week’s racing to go in Game Month 2 of Fantasy Road Race, Aaron Brewer has now moved to the top of the monthly standings by just two points, while Tom Randow now leads the overall leaderboard.

Game Month 2 will come to a close next weekend with MotoGP action from China.
