Blog: In the Ten Kate pit

Angus Farquhar is spending the weekend working in the Winston Ten Kate World Superbike garage with James Toseland at Silverstone:

I’ve just finished my first day at Silverstone and it’s pretty amazing to see what it is like behind the scenes at a meeting like this.

When you sit in the grandstands or watch it at home on telly it’s really hard to appreciate just how much work goes in to trying to get one guy on the podium.

I’ve spent my first day talking with all the guys that make up James’s team a getting to grips with what it is they all do so tomorrow I’ll be fully prepped and ready to get my hands dirty.

I’d be happy if they just let me wash the bikes but hopefully I’ll get a little more involved and be able to give you and insight in to just what it is like working for such a big team.

The main thing I’ve noticed today is just what great people they all are. They’re a Dutch team but they all speak impeccable English and are always happy to sit down and explain exactly what it is they are doing.

I’ll check back in throughout the weekend to keep you up to date on how I’m getting on and I’ll get some exclusive behind the scenes shots to go with it.
