The launch of 'Pocket Bike Club' has been hailed a success by Humberside police as the first volunteers completed training to marshal the safe use of mini motorcycles across Hull.

Police have worked in partnership with the Hull Anti Social Behaviour Team and the Auto Cycle Union (ACU) to provide a safe and regulated alternative to illegal riders, with training for volunteers provided by the ACU.

"This is a very opportune time to begin this project with the summer holidays about to start," said Sergeant Nigel Ling. "There are many people who enjoy riding these bikes and with this scheme we are looking towards educating them to think about where such bikes can be ridden and the safety aspects that should be considered."
