Toseland wins World Cup

In the build-up to the Silverstone round of the World Superbike championship at Silverstone from May 26-28, 2006, James Toseland has already claimed a footballing victory against his WSB rivals.

Eight riders took part with James Toseland and Chris Walker representing England, up against Japan’s Noriyuki Haga, France’s Regis Laconi, Australia’s Steve Martin, Germany’s Max Neukirchner and Brazil’s Alex Barros. All the riders were given three chances to score past Silverstone employee and Coventry City Ladies goalkeeper Sarah Marshall

The two riders who achieved the fastest times met in the final as James Toseland took on Steve Martin in a penalty shoot out, which saw victory go to England as Toseland scored two out of three.

“Let’s hope this isn’t the only trophy I’ll be lifting at Silverstone this weekend,” said Toseland.
