Elias stays with Honda

After a sterling victory at the Portuguese GP Toni Elias has signed a one year extension to stay at the Gresini Honda Team.

The 23-year-old said “I am very happy to have reached this agreement, I believe this is the best choice for my career.”

With only one race of the season left to go Elias is already looking to the future, “I’d like to finish the last race of the season with a good result, but I’m really looking forward to next year, I’m excited to ride the new Honda 800cc.” said Elias.

Fausto Gresini added, “We have always believed in his potential and supported him throughout the year. Last Sunday’s win confirmed that Toni is a talented rider with great potential and enthusiasm.” Gresini also said “With Tony and Marco (Melandri) I’m happy to have two young but strong riders in my team.”
