AMA MX record broken

Ricky Carmichael may have taken his tenth AMA Motocross title already this season, but he continued to break records at round 11 of the series, with two straight wins giving him his 70th overall victory, and a new AMA record.

Carmichael is racing in his last full competitive season in AMA, before switching to developing young Suzuki riders and competing in selected rounds. He took both motos without any problems from second placed James Stewart. Ryan Mills filled the podium in race one, with Kevin Windham finishing third in race two.

“It’s been amazing and I appreciate everything that’s happened in my career,” said Carmichael. “I’ve been so busy throughout my career, but now I can look back and really enjoy what I’ve accomplished.”

The Motocross Lites event was run by Broc Hepler for Makita Suzuki, from Ryan Vlllopoto and Josh Grant.
