Ryuichi Kiyonari has made the best of a wet track and cloudy weather during the first practice session for the finale of the 2006 British Superbike championship at Brands Htach on October 1, 2006.

The HM Plant rider and title contender posted a best lap time of 1:34.003 to head Honda team-mate Karl Harris, who finished the session second fastest. Shane Byrne was third quickest, ahead of Tommy Hill and James Haydon.

The two Airwaves Ducati title challengers, Leon Haslam and Gregorio Lavilla, finished the session 11th and 12th fastest respectively.
