Team-mate Ivan Cervantes claimed the Enduro 1 title on the first day of the evet, leaving him to settle for fourth at his home round in France. Meanwhile Finnish rider Samuli Aro also took his title on the first day, and settled for third in the Enduro 2 class.

“I found it hard to get motivated to be honest. Winning the championship in Slovakia meant I didn’t have anything to go for this weekend apart from trying to win every day of the series,” said Knight. “I could ahve quite easily stayed in bed on day two, but I’m really happy to have won the championship as well as winning every day – it’s been a great season.”
