Dakar Rally: Stage Three

Spaniard Marc Coma took the third special stage of the 2007 Dakar Rally on  Monday 56 seconds ahead of American Chris Blais with Isidre Esteve Pujol (KTM) continuing his run of thirds.

This consistent run has now moved Spain’s Esteve Pujol into the overall lead by 26 seconds.

KTM rider Marc Coma, also from Spain is lying in overall second with French rider David Casteu moving up a place to third.

Britain’s Mick Extance continues with his good run moving from overall 52nd to 32nd after day three. Following a speeding penalty at stage two, he recovered his places by completing this latest stage in 33rd in a time of 3:41:56.

Steve Malone, in just his second Dakar Rally completed stage three in 4:17:48 and 98th position to take him from 134th to 102nd overall.

Paul Broome on his Honda, climbed two places following his 159th place finish on day three while David Dickinson and Robbie Allan continued to stick together on stage three in 222nd and 223rd. This left Allan in 196th overall following and Dickinson in 233rd.

KTM rider Ian Myers slipped from 129th to 200th overall following a 49 minute penalty, which saw him finish the stage in 201st place.
