Dakar Rally: Stage Four

KTM dominated day four of the Dakar Rally by taking the top seven places at the end of the 679km stage between Er Rachidia and Quarzazate in Morocco.

Spanish rider Marc Coma took his second stage of the rally in as many days, completing the day in 4:27:54 ahead of fellow countryman Isidre Esteve Pujol.

This moved Coma to top spot overall with Esteve Pujol making way into second position.

Third on stage four was Frances Cyril Depres who finished just 18 minutes after the leader and moved himself from 16th to sixth in the overall standings with David Casteu holding on to third.

Britain’s Mick Extance completed the 464km in 6:00:53 in 41st place. He has now slipped four places to 39th in the overall standings.

In 115th place was KTM rider Steve Malone who finished 3:04:18 behind the leader.

Ian Myers was next of the Brits in 135th position. The 48-year-old completed stage four in 8:15:30 just over 13 minutes ahead of fellow KTM rider Colin Askey.

This has soared Askey up the ranks from 176th to 149th, which is just one place ahead of Honda’s Paul Broome.

Scotland’s Robbie Allan completed stage four in 194th recording a time of 11:01:33. He now sits in 179th place, moving up from 194th.
