Richards in World Enduro

Out of work BSB star Glen Richards has joined the Phase One Endurance team for the seven-round world championship.

Since finishing fifth in the 2005 BSB series on a Kawasaki ZX10, Australian Richards has struggled, through no fault of his own, to recapture the form that made him one of the most exciting riders in the series.

Unable to secure a BSB ride for this year so far, Richards looked further a field and now he joins fellow Aussie Warwick Nowland and Belgian Didier van Keymeulen in what has to be Phase One’s strongest line-up since they won the title in 2003.

Richards said: “I have two months to prepare before the first test at Albacete. I’ve done some World Endurance before at the Bol d’Or in 1999 and this is just the challenge I need.

“It’s great to be on a competitive bike with the right tyres, the right team and the right technical package to win.”

The team will have a pair of 2007 Yamaha R1s equipped with YRC race-kit engines, 2007 Ohlins TTX forks and shock and Dunlop tyres.
