National Endurance championship, Pembrey preview

1 of 1

Pembrey on 21st and 22nd July is Round 3 of the Hottrax Motorcycle Racing Club Endurance championship and there is all to play for in overall standings and in the classes.

Over the past couple of months, team GB Moto have won rounds 1 and 2 of the championship and on both occasions have been followed home by Harvey Mushman Racing meaning they enjoy a slender lead in the championship of 15 points.

The two Superproduction 1000 Yamaha R1s have managed to keep ahead of some very rapid Supersport 600s entered by M2 Construction (51 points) and Moores Racing (43 points). Will the tight confines of Pembrey allow the 600s to overhaul their larger capacity rivals?

Attrition rate has been low in the series meaning a number of teams will be in with a shout in their various classes at the end of the six hours of action. In the 2 hour Junior class, Team SOBER are leading their championship, with an advantage of 17 points over nearest rivals, Moto Developments with M&P Racing closely behind.

Junior races, so far, have been very close affairs – at Knockhill the teams behind SOBER were all on the same lap. The Junior race starts at 1500 on Saturday the 21st of July and the six hour National race starts at noon on Sunday the 22nd of July 2007.
