Christian Iddon got his 2007 World Supermoto campaign off to the best possible start in the European round at Castelleto Di Branduzzo, Italy with his first world championship race win.

The 22-year-old from Stockport finished ninth in the first S2 class race then won the second on his Aprilia to take an overall third place in the championship.

Two other British competitors also secured points in Italy, Matt Winstanley was seventh in race two and Sam Warren scored 14th and 20th place finishes.

All three riders will be back in action for the second round, Supermoto Grand Prix of Italy in Torino on May 26, 2007.

Aprilia’s Thierry van den Bosche won both S1 races at Castelleto Di Branduzzo.
